PnF2 - Jazz stamp by sam-ely-ember PnF2 - Jazz stamp by sam-ely-ember
As requested by *Melty94 (and I have no idea why I didn't do this before), a stamp for Jazz Rai, character created by us both.

Please, this character is for our Jasmine, different from *WhiteBAG's Jasmin who's also Baljeet's daughter. Thank you.

Enjoy, feel free to use.

Cute stamp, Ely! I love Jazz just as much as I love Marie and Thomas, and that is saying something.

:aww:

Wow, I guess today is a Stamp Day for you. You make them come out wonderfully, and this isn't the exception.

The coloring, lineart, lights and shadows are all in natural places and concord with each other.

I like how her expression reflects her innocence and happiness, it reflects how she know the world is open all full of possibilities for her, or at least that's what I read in it. It shows the personality of someone who knows that the world is full of risks and of tuff times, but who faces them head on and with a light attitude, but not in a prankster or reckless way.

Something that has always caught my eye in your animation is how you do the eyelids for when the character blinks. most people don't realize that in humans when the eyelids close they both are more "swelled up", for the lack of a better word, in the center. This means that cartoons' eyelids should also be like that but just a tad exaggerated, because every human cartoon must have human characteristics but exaggerated so that its expressions and actions are clear and precise. Most people ignore this stating that "it looks weird" and that "when you draw a character you can do whatever you want" and while art can be interpreted in any and every way you can't simply destroy all the rules, for even an abstract art piece must be subjected to certain rules to be able to make its beauty more pronounced. That is why the fact that you do not ignore this anatomy and cartoonist law makes you an observer and a retailer, both which any good artist needs to be able to make his or her artworks more impacting.

Another thing I'l dwell on are her eyes. Most people think that the lightest, in color tone, part of the eye should be around the main light source's reflection, but no, the lightest part of the eye should be exactly on the opposite side of the main light source's reflection. This is explained because the eye acts as a mirror in every direction but, with the excess of light the main light source's reflection it is uncapable of reflecting anything over the great amount of light, so the part in which the reflection tends to be most impacting and defined is the opposite side in which all this light rests.

And the last thing I'll be dwelling on for now are the earring's light reflections. I like the way the borders located where the gold changes into a darker shade aren't precise and definite, but blurry and imprecise, and that it doesn't go from light and brilliant gold to dark and profound gold, but that it has several tones in the middle. All of this together gives it a realistic touch, which in a humanized cartoon, is never un-welcomed.

Phew, long analysis done so, on another note, Jazz looks so beautiful here!!! I swear, Jazz is loooove :heart::heart:.

Congrats! Wonderful stamp, an instant favorite.

Good night and rest well when you do go to sleep.

Woah!!! That's the best analysis I've ever read!! :giggle:

Jazz is exactly the way you describe it :giggle: I'm really happy you were able to read all that in a very small drawing. And considering I just made the animation and the color part, I'm really happy that my coloring was able to reflect such emotions.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for taking the time to write and analyze that much <3

God bless you
kiki5n Featured By Owner Jul 6, 2011
:giggle: Thankies.

Glad I nailed it then, I hope to see more of her soon then, she looks like a lovely girl. :)

A drawing is never to be appreciated by size, but by technique, originality, impact, precision and its color, lights and shadows positions and accuracy. And since this "small drawing" has nailed each and every one of these categories it deserves all these compliments, analysis' and much, much more.

That is a reflection of practice, dedication, passion and love for what you do. You'll see that they'll get even better with time.

It is a true pleasure to take that time, because it makes you happy, and one of the best feelings in the world is making another person genuinely happy. So, as long as I have time and a masterpiece that deserves a good analysis on my side, expect more of my long, deeply thought and analyzed comments.

And, sincerely, whenever I see an artwork I always analyze it, it's a natural reflect for me, the difference is that when I see it's really worth it (and I have time and I'm not lazy :XD:) I write it down on a comment.

God bless you too, and everyone who really needs Him.
